The Ulster Wildlife Trust is urging the Northern Ireland Executive to finally give the green light to the long-awaited and overdue Northern Ireland Marine Bill and make it an Act to safeguard the future of our seas. At the moment, the Bill is stuck with the Executive and there is still no sign of it moving.

As a member of the Northern Ireland Marine Taskforce, the Trust has been working since the beginning to bring forward this vital piece of marine legislation and we are doing what we can find out why the Bill has stalled and urging the Executive to resolve any outstanding issues as soon as possible.

However, the clock is ticking and if the Bill does move forward soon, Northern Ireland is in real danger of running out of time to save our seas.

We need your help to put pressure on our politicians to push this bill through, so we can start protecting and managing our sea for the benefit of marine wildlife, people, and the economy.

Simply click on Marine Bill Campaign to send a pre-prepared email to your MLAs asking them to put pressure on the Executive to bring forward this landmark piece of legislation, without further delay. The more people who take the action, the greater the likelihood of our MLAs sitting up and taking notice.
