Remembering Brian Black

Remembering Brian Black

I write this both as President of Ulster Wildlife and as someone who knew Brian well.

In my working life Brian interviewed me on a number of occasions. While his questions were incisive he was courteous and never led me down a road I did not wish to follow. He criticised neither the Department nor myself.

I was very pleased to welcome him on to our Council, where he brought new insights into how we deal with the public

Perhaps his greatest environmental contribution was his outstanding work on demonstrating the damaging effects of climate change, particularly through his filming of his voyages to Greenland.

I send my condolences to his relatives  while giving thanks for the work of an environmental enthusiast.
