Pollinator Plots Appeal
Will you help join the plots for pollinators?
This winter, we need YOUR help to raise £10,000 to create and care for pollinator-friendly landscapes across Northern Ireland.
Your support will help connect vital habitats, giving bees, butterflies, and other pollinating insects the space they need to recover and thrive.
Please donate today – every contribution, big or small, plays a vital role in helping to bring nature back.

Many of our nature reserves are specially managed to support a wide variety of rare and important pollinators.
For example, Slievenacloy Nature Reserve in the Belfast Hills is home to the heath bumblebee, a priority species in Northern Ireland, and is a local hotspot for butterflies and moths. Meanwhile, the Umbra Nature Reserve, near Limavady, is one of only a handful of sites in Northern Ireland where the endangered scarce crimson and gold moth can be found.
Conservation efforts, such as targeted grazing, help maintain the wildflowers and habitats these pollinators rely on, while regular monitoring helps ensure that our work is making a real difference.
Your donation could help us protect and connect these sites, creating bigger, better, and more joined-up spaces for pollinators — and the many other species that rely on them — to recover and thrive.
Your questions answered
Can my money go towards a specific pollinator or nature reserve?
Funds raised through this appeal will be used for our nature conservation work across the region, benefiting a host of pollinators and other wildlife.
If you would like to help us manage a specific species for at least a year (starting from £10,000 per year), please get in touch with Vickie Chambers - vickie.chambers@ulsterwildlife.org or on 07485 329 722.
What if we exceed our fundraising target?
If we exceed our £10,000 fundraising target and raise more than needed, funds will be used where the need is greatest to do even more for wildlife’s recovery locally.
What happens if we don't meet our fundraising target?
If we are unsuccessful in reaching our £10,000 fundraising target, we will need to explore other routes of support.
