Ulster Wildlife and FieldDay are working together to help wildlife thrive in people’s gardens.
Ulster Wildlife and FieldDay have joined forces to inspire households across Northern Ireland to Let Nature In and play their part in nature’s recovery.
Our gardens collectively cover more land than all of Northern Ireland’s nature reserves combined. That makes them one of the most powerful – and often overlooked – lifelines for wildlife. As climate change and habitat loss continue to take their toll, these everyday spaces have never been more important.
With one in nine native species at risk of extinction in Northern Ireland, including once-common garden visitors such as hedgehogs and house sparrows, gardens are a crucial piece of the jigsaw in helping nature recover.
FieldDay’s Commitment to Nature Recovery
FieldDay has pledged its support to Ulster Wildlife’s ambitious goal of inspiring 5,000 households to take action through the Let Nature In wildlife gardening campaign.
Through financial investment and by helping to raise public awareness about the benefits of wildlife gardening, together we are sowing the seeds of change and creating a network of wildlife-friendly gardens.
Together, we will:
Raise the importance of wildlife-friendly gardening through a variety of communication channels.
Empower households with practical and achievable actions.
Build a growing network of connected, nature-friendly spaces
Provide opportunities for FieldDay staff to support Ulster Wildlife's nature conservation work through volunteering opportunities on our nature reserves.
And much more!
