What your membership supports
As well as bringing back a variety of local wildlife, like red squirrels, barn owls, hedgehogs and native oysters, your support can help to:
- Provide year-round care for 20 nature reserves rich in wildlife
- Restore carbon-storing peatlands for our climate
- Create opportunities to foster nature-positive attitudes in young people, farmers and government
Why Ulster Wildlife?
With 14,000 members supporting our mission to bring nature back at land and sea, we are the largest local conservation charity at home.
Our key focus is on protecting and restoring the wildlife that is native to Northern Ireland.
Making a difference, together
In 2024-25, members' support has helped:
- Survey 221 woodlands for red squirrels, grey squirrels and pine martens
- Restore 130 hectares of peatlands
- Manage 1,231 football-pitches equivalent of land for local wildlife
- Install our fourth native oyster nursery at Carrickfergus
